Car makes involved with bikes?

Not too bad of an idea, really, especially with gas prices as they are now.

Still, this bike is not too shabby. Maserati has always been a pretty stylish auto marque, so it stands to reason they would offer a nice fixie/single speed offering.

Not to be left behind, Audi does them one better and goes with an eco-friendly option - a wood frame.

Finally, Specialized bikes teamed up with my favorite F1 team - McLaren - and this beast is the result. Santa Claus, I've been a good boy this year. ;-)

And while I'm on the topic of bikes - The Giro d'Italia starts Saturday!

Working on a couple of entries for the blog. For now, take it easy and enjoy (click to access the fun!).

The great experiment begins...

Partly because I don't watch that much of it, and partly to save some cash, I have decided to cut my cable TV service.

This was something I've been thinking about doing, mostly because of the first reason stated above. Sure, as much as I love ESPN, Fox Sports Net, Fox Sports EspaƱol, and Sons of Anarchy on FX, I didn't watch as much of the other channels. It's very much a paradox of choice, where too many choices leads to a sort of paralysis in making a decision.

Plus, I have Netflix, and this would help me focus on watching TV shows and movies through the queue. Many networks have their shows online where you can watch for free anyway, and I hope to revisit some of my DVD collection as well as to ratchet up my reading again.

Spending three hours in commuter traffic daily also cuts into the TV watching time. That, and the burgeoning cycling addiction. :-)

It's Official: Charlie Sheen has totally lost his s***

He's on a drug. It's called Charlie Sheen.

Good gosh! He keeps at it he'll make Gary Busey look downright reticent.

Countdown to when a white comedian will do the "True Hollywood Story" treatment of Sheen the way Dave Chappelle did for Rick James.

The downward spiral continues for Carlos Estevez. Cocaine IS a hell of a drug.

Music is my destiny

These are part of a mix CD in heavy rotation during my weekly work drives:
"Helpless" and "Government Center"

Note: click on both, crank up the volume, and enjoy!

"OK, turn it off now."

Commuter Musing: T-Mobile's new spokesperson

The more I see her, the more I'm attracted to the T-Mobile 4G girl.

I see her on a couple of billboards while I drive to work daily, and see her on TV in the commercials for T-Mobile. Something about her overall look - the retro-looking dress and long hair. Of course, seeing her in the leather motorcycle look doesn't hurt.

Full disclosure, two parts: one, I'm a diehard AT&T subscriber (way back when they were Cingular) ever since I had my first cell phone. And two - I was used to seeing the more curvy Catherine Zeta-Jones as the T-Mobile spokesperson. So seeing the new T-Mobile 4G Girl the first time was a bit different, as she's more slender. Plus the way the skirt flares out accentuates her thinness, I think.

But I guess more exposure to her hasn't hurt. In fact, I find myself at times during my morning drive gazing at her shoving a phone into my sight and thinking, "Hmm, I'd like to find a hidden corner and play some tonsil hockey with her."

And she also joins my harem of advertising ladies I've developed small crushes on, such as Flo the Progressive Saleslady and the Orbit Gum British Lady. I suppose this is a nice, unexpected fringe benefit to being an advertising minor back in college.
